An image of a huge explosion has recently spread on social media as the bombing of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation in Lebanon. The claim read: “Breaking: The bombing of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation, affiliated with Hezbollah militia, and is considered a bank for the party.”
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the targeting of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation in Lebanon. The image dates back to the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza in 2019.
Reuters published the photo on March 26, 2019, in a photo album titled: “Israel bombs Gaza after rocket hits Tel Aviv.” The agency explained that the photo shows “flames and smoke during an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City on March 25, 2019,” and that it was taken by Mohammed Ajur
France24 also published the circulated photo on 25/3/2019, with the following caption: “Flames rising from a site in the Gaza Strip following Israeli raids, March 25, 2019.”
