A video clip showing a clash between security personnel and a group of people has been circulating on social media, with the claim that it took place inside a shelter during the Iranian missile attack. The video was accompanied by the following description: “A live scene of chaos and barbarism among the Israelis scattered across the country inside a shelter during the Iranian missile attack.”
Kashif verified the video via Google Images search and found that it was posted on 12 June 2025, claiming to be from the Tbilisi City Court in Georgia, not related to the military escalation between Israel and Iran.
Georgian Instagram account Batumelebi posted the video on 12 June 2025, one day before the start of the military escalation between Israel and Iran, with the following description: “Security personnel assaulted women in the lobby of the Tbilisi City Court,” adding: “Today the final session of the trial of prisoner of conscience, Mate Davidze, is being held.”
“Publika” Facebook account also posted the video on the same date, 12 June 2025, with the following description: “Mate Davidze’s trial is taking place in the Tbilisi City Court. A clash broke out outside the courtroom where his friends and supporters were gathered. Security personnel forcibly removed a number of citizens who had come to support him from the corridor.”
According to the Civil Georgia website, the Tbilisi City Court in Georgia sentenced Mati Davidze, 21, to four years and six months in prison for assaulting police officers during the dispersal of a protest early in the morning of 19 November 2024. The protester had been demonstrating against the results of the October parliamentary elections and demanding new elections.
