Social media accounts recently posted a photo of US President Donald Trump at his desk in the White House, with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic sitting opposite him, accompanied by the following text: “Extraordinary rudeness to receive heads of state in this manner. The colonial mentality in the West is exploding with its collapse. This is the leader of a state, not the leader of a state.”
Kashif verified the image via Google Images and found that it is old, having been circulated in September 2020 and is not recent.
The circulated image was published by a number of media outlets in 2020, including the BBC, on 11 September with the following description: “Maria Zakharova (Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman) published this photo from the White House, accompanied by a photo of (actress) Sharon Stone’s legs crossed below it.”
Al-Mayadeen TV channel published the photo on 6/9/2020, in a report titled: “Trump Seats Serbian President Like a ‘Student’ in the Oval Office.”
