Gazawood account on “X” published a video clip documenting the moment a child was injured, claiming that the video was fabricated, accusing the child of faking his injury, as the clip was accompanied by the following text: “Breaking: Palestinians are circulating a new video clip, in which they claim that an Israeli sniper shot this child in the back. The video is fabricated and fake – there is no bullet hole in his back or chest, there is no blood, and the sound of the gunshot is clearly fabricated.”

Source of the claim

Kashif verified the claim and found it to be misleading. Journalist Hamza Hamdan, who’s based in Tulkarm, confirmed to Kashif that the child is 10-year-old Saddam Rajab from the town of Kafr al-Labad, east of Tulkarm, adding that he was shot by the Israeli occupation army in the western neighborhood of Tulkarm.

Kashif also contacted Iyad Rajab, Saddam’s father, who confirmed that his son was shot by the Israeli occupation army in front of his house in the western neighborhood of Tulkarm, and was transferred first to Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm, then to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus. Rajab added that his son’s health condition was described as “very bad.”

The Israeli occupation army continues its storming of the city and camp of Tulkarm for the fourth day, amidst destruction of infrastructure, and raids and searches of homes and residential and commercial buildings. The Israeli occupation army forces forced citizens to evacuate a large number of their homes in Tulkarm camp, and blew up a number of others. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the killing of three citizens since the beginning of the storming.
