Videos have spread on social media documenting the moment of an explosion inside Jenin camp , with the claim that the explosion was in Al-Ansar Mosque. The video was accompanied by the following claim: “The moment the Israeli occupation blew up Al-Ansar Mosque in Jenin camp”.
Kashf verified the information and found it to be inaccurate. Jenin camp resident Khaled Abu Subaih told Kashif that the explosion took place in a cave under his house located southwest of Al-Ansar Mosque in Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin camp. He added that the Israeli occupation forces stormed his house and asked him to move 50 meters away. Hours later, he heard the sound of a huge explosion as a result of an explosion under his house. The explosion completely damaged his house, his brother’s house, Nasser, and caused partial damage to several houses near the site.
ON 22 October 2023, Israeli occupation aircraft bombed Al-Ansar Mosque located in the Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin camp, killing two young men and injuring 5 others.
The Israeli occupation army sent military reinforcements to the city of Jenin and its camp for the ninth consecutive day of the ongoing aggression on the city, which has so far resulted in the killing of 19 Palestinians, in addition to extensive damage to infrastructure, shops and homes.
