Accounts on “X” published a photo showing a burning vehicle, claiming that it was a recent targeting in Israel.

Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” tool, and found that it is old and was incorrectly linked to Hezbollah’s targeting of Israel on Saturday, 16/11/2024. The image dates back to a vehicle burning in Kiryat Shmona illegal settlement in 2023.
The Jerusalem Post published the photo on 2/11/2023, with the following description: “A car burns in Kiryat Shmona after rockets fell on the city, on November 2, 2023.”

Al Jazeera English also published an interview with military and strategic expert Elias Hanna on YouTube on 2/11/2023 about the escalation on the Lebanese front and the targeting of Kiryat Shmona. The interview included a shot at minute 1:11 identical to the circulated image from another angle. Al Jazeera English published the interview with the following title: “A large fire broke out in the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona after a missile attack.”

The Israeli occupation army announced in a statement published on 16/11/2024 that “the air force detected about 10 missiles launched from Lebanese territory towards the city of Haifa, which led to a number of buildings being directly hit.”
Hezbollah also announced in a statement on Saturday, 16/11/2024, the implementation of a series of military operations targeting Israeli military sites and bases in various areas of Israel.
The attack also included an airstrike using a squadron of dive drones, targeting a gathering of Israeli forces in the Sa’sa settlement. The forces also carried out a missile attack on another gathering of Israeli forces in the Kiryat Shmona settlement.
