A statement attributed to Palestinian Foreign Minister Farsin Aghabekian spread on social media during a briefing session held on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, regarding the efforts of the Palestinian presidency and government to halt the genocide.
The claim <\/a>alleged that the minister said: \u201cWe hope President Trump will be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and that our cause will be resolved.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media outlets<\/a> circulated a slightly different version of the statement: \u201cWe support awarding President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize if the Palestinian cause is resolved.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif verified these claims and found them inaccurate, it reviewed the live video broadcast by Palestine TV, titled: Briefing Session by Foreign Minister Varsin Aghabekian on the Leadership\u2019s Efforts to Stop the Genocide.<\/p>\n\n\n

It confirmed that Minister Aghabekian did not say: \u201cWe hope President Trump will be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and that our cause will be resolved,\u201d nor did she say: \u201cWe support awarding President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize if our cause is resolved.\u201d Instead, her exact words were: \u201cPresident Trump will run for the Nobel Peace Prize, and this could happen if the Palestinian issue is resolved, because it is one of the world\u2019s most intractable problems. The time has come to respect Palestinian rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her comment came in response to a journalist\u2019s question about the Palestinian Authority\u2019s relationship with the United States, specifically after minute 48 of the session<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the same day, Wednesday, 13 August 2025, Minister Aghabekian<\/a> also held a press conference in which she reaffirmed that the Gaza Strip is an inseparable part of the Palestinian state, stressing the need to unify authority under one government and one weapon, with Arab and international support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
