Social media accounts and websites have posted a video of Fairuz and two photos of the late Ziad Rahbani in the wrong context. We present the facts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First:<\/strong> A video clip of Fairuz<\/a> , claiming to be a recent one, mourning her son, Ziad Rahbani. <\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the video clip via \u201cGoogle Images\u201d tool, and found that it is old and the claim is misleading. \u201cGhayboun<\/a>\u201d YouTube channel posted it on 5 March 2013, and stated that it dates back to \u201cGood Friday at the Balamand Monastery\u201d in 1992.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Second:<\/strong> A photo of the late Ziad Rahbani<\/a> with a doctor, claiming it’s the last photo of him in the hospital before his death. <\/p>\n\n\n

The doctor shown in the photo,\u00a0Muhammad Qadih,<\/a>\u00a0told An-Nahar that the photo dates back to about four years ago, during one of Rahbani\u2019s frequent visits to the hospital. Qadih said: \u201cI posted the photo on my personal account as an expression of\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About my great love for him and the magnitude of the loss we feel with his passing. I used to meet him often during the periods when he was admitted to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third:<\/strong> A photo of Ziad Rahbani<\/a> with a woman, claiming that she is his ex-wife, Dalal Karam. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Lebanese newspaper, As-Safir,<\/a>\u00a0published\u00a0the circulated photo in its archive, claiming that it shows Salma Al-Musfi and Ziad Rahbani, in a 2001 report.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Singer Salma Al-Masfi also posted a similar image as\u00a0her<\/a>\u00a0Instagram profile picture, and went live on\u00a0Thawra TV<\/a>\u00a0on 28 July 2025, to talk about the late Ziad Rahbani.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Thawra TV<\/a> reported that Al-Masfi began her collaboration with the late Ziad Rahbani in 1986, participating with her voice in the choir in many of his famous works, in addition to his collaborations with other artists. <\/p>\n\n\n

Ziad Rahbani<\/a>\u00a0passed away on Saturday morning, 26 July 2025, at the age of 69, after a long battle with liver cirrhosis. Rahbani was buried on 28 July in a funeral procession attended by a large crowd, including his mother, Fairuz, who appeared in public for the first time in years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
