Kashif verified the video and found it to be old and falsely linked to the downing of a US MQ-9 drone by Yemeni air defenses in Hajjah Governorate. The video, which was circulated in May 2024, documents the downing of a US MQ-9 drone over Marib Governorate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yemeni War Media<\/a>\u00a0account on X published the video on 17\/5\/2024, accompanied by the following text: \u201cScenes of Yemeni air defenses shooting down the American MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile actions in the airspace of Ma\u2019rib Governorate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

The Yemeni Armed Forces<\/a>\u00a0announced on Sunday, 13\/4\/2025, that they had shot down an American MQ-9 drone in the airspace of Hajjah Governorate using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile. The forces stated that this drone was one of four downed in the space of two weeks and the nineteenth during the “Promised Victory and Holy Jihad” battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
