A group of photos<\/a> of a solidarity march with Palestine have been circulating on social media, claiming that they are from a demonstration in Kolkata, India. The photos were accompanied by the following description: \u201cThousands of people demonstrated in Suhrawardy Park in Kolkata, India, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in light of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the image via Google Images search and found the claim to be misleading. The images are from a demonstration in which thousands of citizens took to the streets in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, in solidarity with Palestine, not in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somoynews.tv<\/a>\u00a0Facebook\u00a0account posted a series of photos with the following description: “March for Gaza. Millions of people gather in processions in Suhrawardi Udyan. The entire area is covered in slogans.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The Al-Jarmaq News<\/a>\u00a0Network also published\u00a0the same photos on its X , accompanied by the following description: \u201cThousands participate in a mass demonstration in Bangladesh, rejecting the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and demanding an end to the ongoing aggression.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka,<\/a>\u00a0witnessed a massive demonstration on Saturday, 12\/4\/2025, attended by approximately 100,000 people in solidarity with the Gaza Strip. The demonstration was organized by the Palestine Solidarity Movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip continues. According to the latest update from\u00a0the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza<\/a>, the death toll from the aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7\/10\/2023, has risen to 50,944 and 116,156 injuries, including 15,000 children killed, and more than 34,000 other children injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
