Social media\u00a0accounts<\/a>\u00a0posted a design attributed to Al Jazeera Palestine, which contained a statement attributed to Hamas leader Osama Hamdan, which read: \u201cThose who came out today against Hamas are being driven by the occupation from dark, closed rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the design and found it to be fabricated, and the statement to be plagiarism. Kashif’s team searched Al Jazeera Palestine’s social media accounts and found no references to the circulating design and statement. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif found that the Al-Jazeera Palestine<\/a>\u00a0account on X had published, on 12\/11\/2023, a design identical to the one currently in circulation, containing the same image of Hamas leader Osama Hamdan, but with a different statement, which read: \u201cHamas leader Osama Hamdan: There are efforts being made by our brothers in Qatar and Egypt regarding prisoner exchange negotiations.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

The movement’s Telegram channel, “Tabin – Hamas,<\/a>” also denied the authenticity\u00a0of the statement<\/a>\u00a0attributed to Hamdan, stressing that it was a false statement that Hamdan did not make, and that official statements and declarations are published through the official Hamas channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A demonstration<\/a>\u00a0took place in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, on Tuesday, 25\/3\/2025, demanding an end to the aggression on the Strip. Demonstrators chanted slogans against Hamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
