Social media\u00a0accounts<\/a>\u00a0recently published a video clip of Syrian demonstrators protesting against the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, \u201cAbu Muhammad al-Julani,\u201d claiming that it was following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.<\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the video via \u201cGoogle Image\u201d and found that it is old and the claim is misleading. The video shows to a demonstration in the city of Binnish in the Idlib countryside in March 2024, not recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sham Network<\/a> – whose logo appears in the circulated video – posted the video on Facebook on 3\/8\/2024, accompanied by the following text: \u201cCome on, leave Golani from the demonstration in the city of Binnish in the Idlib countryside.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

Huge popular\u00a0protests<\/a>\u00a0took place in more than ten points, during which hundreds of demonstrators gathered and raised slogans against Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, and demanded the overthrow of its general commander, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, on Friday, 8\/3\/2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lleader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa,<\/a>\u00a0nicknamed \u201cAbu Muhammad al-Julani,\u201d had stated that he would be comfortable if the Syrians did not ask him to run for president, and that he would run if the citizens or those around him asked him to do so. He pointed out that \u201cthe form of authority in Syria is left to the decisions of experts and legal experts, and the Syrian people are the ones who decide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
