WhatsApp groups recently posted a video showing a man shooting himself, claiming to be from Hebron. The video was accompanied by the following text: \u201cA young man from Hebron committed suicide a short while ago, live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the video via \u201cGoogle Images\u201d tool and found that the video is old and the claim is misleading. Kurdish accounts such as\u00a0Rojhelat News<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cX\u201d and kobas<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cFacebook\u201d published the video on October 15-17, 2024 and explained that the video is of Zuhair Aminian. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Several Kurdish accounts on TikTok, such as kaka warty<\/a> and mali_hamu_rangek,<\/a> also posted the video last October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif Observatory examined a group of circulated\u00a0videos<\/a>\u00a0showing Aminian, it noticed that he does not speak Arabic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif’s team contacted the Spokesman for the Palestinian police, Colonel Louay Erziqat, who denied the claim and confirmed that the video clip was not of a young man from Hebron, stressing that no suicide cases had been recorded in Hebron recently.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
