Kashif verified the image via \u201cGoogle Images\u201d and found that the image is old and the claim is misleading. The image shows an oil platform on fire in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 22\/4\/2010, CBS NEWS<\/a>\u00a0published\u00a0the photo in a report titled: \u201cLouisiana Oil Platform Explosion\u201d and accompanied the photo with the following description: \u201cThe Deepwater Horizon oil platform caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, April 22, 2010.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

The Deepwater Horizon oil rig, operating in the Macondo Prospect area of \u200b\u200bthe Gulf of Mexico, exploded and sank on 20\/4\/2010, killing 11 workers, according to a report published by\u00a0the US Environmental Protection Agency<\/a>. The report added that 4 million barrels of oil flowed from the Macondo well over a period of 87 days, before it was shut down on July 15, 2010.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
