Social media<\/a>\u00a0accounts posted\u00a0a photo of a child with amputated legs and a dog next to him, claiming that he is from Gaza, \u201cIt is not a scene from the movie: We Don\u2019t Know Where to Go,\u201d and the claim was accompanied by the following hashtags: Gaza is being annihilated, Gaza is being annihilated and burned, Gaza in Genocide.\u201d Indicating that the photo was taken during the current aggression on the Gaza Strip.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

One source of the claim<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the image via \u201cGoogle Images\u201d tool and found that it is old and that the claim is misleading. The image was circulated in 2016 and 2019 without mentioning details about the child, but its old publication confirms that it was taken before the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on 7\/10\/2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Facebook accounts, Oderfliw<\/a>,\u00a0posted the image on 30\/3\/2016 with the following caption: \u201cDogs don\u2019t care if you don\u2019t have a home, if you live on the street, or if your feet are missing. They don\u2019t know how to tell, they love you for who you are, not what you have or what color your skin is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Several accounts such as NMP No Mercy Ph<\/a> , Chiapas Sin Censura<\/a> , and \u0e04\u0e19\u0e43\u0e15\u0e49.\u0e04\u0e2d\u0e21<\/a> also posted .<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Facebook, the photo was posted in July 2019, with no mention of any detail about the child, but focused on the dog being a friend to humans.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Account “ariete59283<\/a>”\u00a0posted\u00a0the image on “facciabuco” platform on 8\/2\/2019 with the following text: \u201cDogs don\u2019t care if you don\u2019t have a home, if you live on the streets, or if your feet are missing. They don\u2019t know how to differentiate, they love you for who you are, not for what you have or the color of your skin.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoorprendente<\/a>\u00a0published\u00a0the photo on 1\/11\/2019 in a report titled: \u201cThe photo of the child without legs sleeping in the street with his friend fills the world with feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTen children in Gaza lose one or both legs every day, according to UNRWA,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Lisa Dutton, an official with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, on 9\/10\/2024.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
