A photo of a damaged iPhone has been widely shared on\u00a0social media, with the claim that the photo is from the incident of wireless devices exploding on Wednesday 18 September 2024, in Lebanon.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

Kashif verified the claim, and via reverse search using \u201cGoogle images\u201d tool it found that it is old and incorrectly linked to the incident of wireless devices exploding in Lebanon on Wednesdays. The image was published by\u00a0Cairo 24<\/a>\u00a0on 19 March 2021 in a report with the following title: \u201cAn iPhone explosion causes a fire and breaks a child\u2019s arm in Maadi”.<\/p>\n\n\n

On 18 September 2024 Icom wireless devices<\/a>\u00a0exploded with their carriers inside homes in different areas of southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Lebanon.\u00a0The Lebanese Ministry of Health also announced<\/a>\u00a0that the explosions resulted in the deaths of 9 people and more than 300 injuries until the time of preparing the verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
