Facebook accounts<\/a> published a post of an account impersonating \u201cMona Ismail Haniyeh<\/a>\u201d, one of the daughters of the former head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh. The post included that she heard a discussion between Haniyeh and the current head of the Hamas political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, in which Haniyeh told Sinwar of his desire to hand over the Gaza Strip to President Mahmoud Abbas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The text reads: \u201cI remember on that date 7\/2\/2021 at (7:00) in the evening, when we were sitting in our house and Baba was having a heated discussion with Sinwar when Baba told him that we will hand over Gaza to President Mahmoud Abbas to manage Gaza completely and the Palestinian Authority, and the discussion heated up for about 40 minutes and when Baba hung up the phone he said the word (the sick Sinwar will destroy Gaza). This feeling that will never leave me, what did Baba and Sinwar talk about on that day? Today I realized Baba\u2019s words, God is sufficient for me and He is the best Disposer of affairs against you, Sinwar, God is sufficient for me and He is the best Disposer of affairs against you, Sinwar.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif verified the account and found that it was impersonated. Moath Haniyeh, Haniyeh’s son, confirmed to Kashif that the account is fake. He added that he does not have a sister named Mona, and that the one who appears in the photo attached to the post with his father is Ruwa, his niece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashif’s team found that the account deleted the circulated post, and that it contained a picture of Enas Haniyeh, the wife of Hazem, the son of Ismail Haniyeh, and that the account had first published<\/a> on 10 April 2024. It also shared a tweet from an impersonating account on \u201cX\u201d that claimed to belong to one of Haniyeh\u2019s daughters, also bearing the name \u201cLatifa Ismail Haniyeh\u201d , which <\/a>Kashif <\/a>had previously verified . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh,<\/a> has 13 sons and daughters from his wife, Amal Haniyeh. On 10 April 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a vehicle in the Al-Shati camp in Gaza City, and 3 of Haniyeh’s sons and 5 of his grandchildren were killed: (Hazem Ismail Haniyeh) and his daughter Amal, (Amir Ismail Haniyeh) and his son Khaled and his daughter Razan, in addition to (Muhammad Ismail Haniyeh) and the injury of his granddaughter Malak who was announced dead on 15 April 2024. On 11 November 2023, his granddaughter Ruwa Hammam Ismail Haniyeh was killed, and on 21 November 2023, his eldest grandson Jamal Muhammad Haniyeh was killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
