Users on Facebook published\u00a0a statement<\/a>\u00a0allegedly attributed to the member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, PLO, and leader in Fatah, Azzam Al-Ahmad, stating: \u201cThe president will issue a decision within hours to the security services to confront the Israeli occupation army and cut off security contact with it\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

The details of the claim included the following text: \u201cAzzam Al-Ahmad, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, said that President Abbas has had enough because of the ongoing Israeli crimes in the Jenin camp, and that President Abbas is determined to turn the tables on the occupation. Al-Ahmad continued that the Palestinian National Security Forces must prepare to receive orders for armed confrontation to defend the lives and property of the Palestinian people, and that these orders will be issued immediately after the conclusion of an emergency meeting held by President Abbas with the Palestinian leadership. Al-Ahmad warned Netanyahu of the serious consequences of his bloody actions in the Jenin camp, stressing that the time in which Palestinians lose blood without Israeli blood is over\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashf verified the claim and found it to be impersonated. Azzam Al-Ahmad\u2019s office, told Kashif that the statement is not true and confirmed that it was impersonated and did not come from Al-Ahmad.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kashf<\/a>\u00a0had previously verified a number of plagiaristic statements attributed to Al-Ahmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the latest update from\u00a0the Palestinian Ministry of Health<\/a>\u00a0, the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli operation, also known as “Operation Summer Camps”, rose to 39 with over 145 injuries recorded in the West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
