Misrepresentation of old video as mass flee from recent Yemeni missile attack targeting Israel

Social media accounts posted a video of a group of people fleeing as they heard air raid sirens. The video, which was claimed to be from Tel Aviv, was posted after a Yemeni missile was detected. The caption read: “Extreme fear and panic this morning in Tel Aviv after a missile was detected from Yemen.”

    One source of the claim

Kashif verified the video via Google Lens search and found it to be old and incorrectly linked to the recent Yemeni missile attack targeting the occupation. It was circulated on 29 April 2025, and dates back to a mass flee following a suspected security incident in Habima Square in Tel Aviv.

“Ynet” on TikTok published the video on 29 April 2025, accompanied by the following description: “Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers, during an incident that sparked panic among participants in the Memorial Day ceremony in Habima Square (in Tel Aviv).”

The video was posted on TikTok by “” account on 29/4/2025.

Ynet quoted the Israeli police as saying that the incident was not security-related and that “no bullets were fired.” A closer look at the video published by Ynet reveals that, contrary to the video in circulation, there is no sound of sirens.

A number of media outlets also published a video from another angle of the mass escape that took place in Habima Square in Tel Aviv, including Al-Arabiya TV, which explained that the escape occurred during “a ceremony commemorating the fallen soldiers of the Israeli occupation army following a suspected security incident at the site.”

The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Yahya Saree, announced on Thursday, 10 July 2025, the implementation of a “military operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied Jaffa region with a Zulfiqar ballistic missile.” He added that the operation “caused air raid sirens to sound in more than 300 towns and cities, millions of Zionists to rush to shelters, and air traffic at the airport to halt.”

Meanwhile, air raid sirens sounded at dawn on Thursday in areas inside Israel, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the Israeli occupation army announced the interception of a missile launched from Yemen.
