Social media accounts posted an interview with the Secretary-General of the Arab Islamic Council, Muhammad Ali al-Husseini, on Al Arabiya, claiming that he warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against waging another war with Iran. The interview was accompanied by the following caption: “Al-Husseini warns… warnings to the Israeli Prime Minister regarding another war with Iran.”

Kashif verified the circulated interview via Google Lens search and found that it was manipulated and the claim misleading. In the original interview, Al-Husseini warns Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi against targeting the occupation, not Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Al Arabiya channel published the full interview with Secretary-General of the Arab Islamic Council, Muhammad Ali al-Husseini, on YouTube on 29 September 2024. The original clip of the circulating video appears to be between 8:50 and 10:36 minutes.

In his response to an Al Arabiya reporter’s question, Secretary-General of the Arab Islamic Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Husseini, addressed a message to Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi. The original clip from the edited video being circulated was part of this message.
The video was edited using the following sentences:
- “O Netanyahu” instead of “O Mr. (Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi).”
- “No one was killed in Iran” instead of “No one was killed in Israel.”
- “Don’t knock on Iran’s door again” instead of “Don’t knock on Tel Aviv’s door again.”
- “This time he will come to you directly, not to Tel Aviv or anywhere in Israel” instead of “This time he will come to you directly, not to Hodeidah or anywhere in Saada.”
- “You should ask the Israeli ambassador who was in Tel Aviv” instead of “You should ask the Iranian ambassador who was in Sana’a.”
- “Therefore, Mr. Netanyahu and those with you” instead of “Therefore, Mr. Houthi and those with you.”
The Israeli occupation launched an attack on Iran on 13 June 2025, attacking military and nuclear sites, civilian facilities, and the assassination of military leaders and nuclear scientists. This triggered a 12-day military escalation between the two sides, during which Tehran targeted Israeli military and intelligence sites with ballistic missiles and drones.
The Iranian judiciary announced that the death toll from the military escalation with Israel had risen to 935, including 38 children and 132 women. The Iranian General Staff said that Israel “will face a crushing and devastating response if it launches a new aggression.” Meanwhile, Israel announced that 28 people were killed and 3,238 injured as a result of the Iranian response.
