Information has spread on social media claiming that lawyer Raja Khatib, from the city of Tamra in the Galilee, along with his wife, daughters, and brother’s wife, died when a missile from Iran struck their home on 14 June 2025.
Kashif verified the information and found it to be inaccurate. Lawyer Raja Khatib is fine and unharmed, while his wife, two daughters, and brother’s wife have passed away.
Kashif searched through public sources and found that lawyer Al-Khatib had given an interview to the Arab48 website on 15 June 2025, in which he recounted the details of the incident, saying: “When the sirens sounded, I was on the first floor of the house. I started going up to the third floor to call my wife and daughters to come down to the shelter on the second floor. When I reached the second floor, I heard the sound of an explosion. Then, dust and sand obscured the view and covered everything.”

Journalist Najat Hamouda, who was at the scene of the incident in Tamra, said that she met with lawyer Raja Khatib, who is in good health, confirming he wasn’t killed. She added that the incident resulted in the death of his wife, Manar Qassem Abu Al-Haija Khatib, and her two daughters, Shaza and Hala Khatib, as well as their brother’s wife, Manar Fakhri Diab Khatib.
On Saturday, 14 June2025, a rocket fell directly on the home of a Palestinian Arab family in the Khallet al-Ghazal neighborhood of the city of Tamra in the Galilee region. The attack resulted in the deaths of four women, dozens of injuries, and the total and partial destruction of homes and buildings.
For the third consecutive day, the military escalation between Iran and the Israeli occupation, which began on 13 June 2025, continues. Israel launched intensive raids as part of an operation dubbed “Rising Lion,” targeting nuclear facilities, sites, and military leaders inside Iran. In response, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries. Meanwhile, confrontations and mutual threats continue, amid international warnings of an escalating war.
