A photo of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, posing next to a grave has been circulating on social media. The photo was taken during a secret funeral for his sister, who died from her wounds following a bombing that targeted the family home a few days ago, has been widely circulated on social media.
The claim stated: The sister of the Prime Minister of Israel… A secret funeral for the Netanyahu family In the shadow of dawn today, a complete blackout was imposed by the Israeli intelligence service on the funeral prayer of the secret “Yotan”, the sister of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after she passed away in the intensive care hospital from her wounds after an SDF targeted the family home days ago before she was transferred to the funeral. The media was prevented from circulating the news, fearing its impact on morale within the government and Israeli society, which is already living under the pressure of continuous Iranian missiles and escalating tensions on the northern and southern fronts. Netanyahu stood at the grave of his sister Yotan, wearing a black suit, accompanied by a limited number of officials and close associates, including his wife Sara, the Minister of Defense, the head of the Internal Security Agency, and a military rabbi to recite the prayers

Kashif verified the image via Google search, found it to be old and the claim misleading. The photo dates back to 2022, and there is no truth to the claim that Netanyahu’s sister was killed during the escalation between Iran and the Israeli occupation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a photo from another angle on his official Instagram account, during his visit with his wife to the grave of his brother Yonatan (Yoni) Netanyahu, on 5 July 2022, accompanied by the following description: “My brother Jonathan, I am very happy.”

The photo was also published by the website israeleconomico on July 6, 2022, with the following description: “Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu in front of Yoni’s grave in Jerusalem (Photo: via Instagram).”
Israeli media announced on 15 June 2025, that the Iranian bombing targeted the power station in Hadera and the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s family in the town of Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv. However, Israeli media did not report any injuries or deaths from Netanyahu’s family.
Twelve days after the outbreak of war between Iran and the Israeli occupation, US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire between the two sides. The announcement came after an unprecedented military escalation that included Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, most notably the Natanz reactor and the Fordow Center, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries inside Iran. Tehran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israeli cities and the US Al Udeid base in Qatar, killing 28 Israelis and wounding dozens, in addition to significant material damage. The agreement gradually entered into force starting at dawn on Tuesday, 25 June 2025, amid international warnings of the fragility of the truce and the possibility of its collapse if either party violates its terms.
