A video clip of a fire has been circulating on social media and WhatsApp groups, with claims that it was caused by shrapnel from an interceptor missile falling in the center of the city of Al-Bireh.
Kashif verified the information and found it to be misleading. Kashif contacted the Director of Public Relations and Media at the Civil Defense, Colonel Nael Al-Azza, who denied the information. He explained that the fire that broke out on Nablus Street in Al-Bireh was caused by negligence, the burning of weeds, and the spread of debris, not by falling shrapnel from an interceptor missile.
He added that the Civil Defense had brought the fire under control. He explained that the Civil Defense in Ramallah and Al-Bireh had not been notified on Sunday,15 June 2025, of any shrapnel falling in Ramallah, while in the previous two days, the Civil Defense had responded to 80 shrapnel incidents, resulting in seven injuries and a grass fire.
