Accounts on X shared a video of a massive explosion, claiming it showed Israeli airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen. The video was accompanied by the caption:
“Massive explosion at the port of Hodeidah due to the strike.”

Kashif verified the authenticity of the video by conducting a reverse image search using Google Images and found that it was old and falsely linked to the recent Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah. The video actually dates back to September 2022 and documents an explosion at a power station in Ukraine.
The video was published by The Sun on its YouTube channel on 13 September 2022, with the title:
“Dramatic moment a Ukrainian power station explodes, sending shockwaves and plunging millions into darkness.“
In the description, the channel explained that the footage shows the moment a Russian missile struck a power station in Kharkiv, Ukraine, causing massive shockwaves and resulting in power outages for millions.
