A photo circulated on social media showing two settlers, one of whom appears to be spraying liquid on two seated women, with claims that the image documents an assault by settlers on two women with disabilities at the entrance to the town of Sa’ir in Hebron on 1 May 2025. The image was shared with the following caption: “The moment of the assault on two disabled women at the entrance to the city of Hebron.”

Kashif investigated the image and found that it is not real—it was generated using artificial intelligence and does not depict the alleged incident in Hebron.
Upon close examination, Kashif identified several distortions in the image, the most prominent being unnatural deformities in the women’s fingers and the unrealistic flow of the liquid that defies gravity. Additionally, the settler’s right hand appears to be disconnected from the wrist.

Kashif also used AI image detection tools, including Hive Moderation, which determined that the image was generated using artificial intelligence with a confidence level of 94.7%.

Kashif further contacted photojournalist Sari Jaradat from Hebron, who confirmed that the image is fabricated and does not depict the two women with disabilities, Dunia and Dina Jaradat, who were in fact assaulted by a settler spraying liquid on them at the entrance to the town of Sa’ir, north of Hebron, on 1 May 2025. Jaradat added that the two women suffer from complete hearing impairment but are not wheelchair users, which contradicts what is shown in the circulated image.
Since the beginning of 2025, Palestinian human rights reports have documented a noticeable escalation in settler attacks in the West Bank. According to the monthly report issued by the Negotiations Affairs Department, 9,102 violations were recorded in January 2025 alone, including killings, injuries, arrests, raids, demolitions, property destruction, and assaults.
