Social media accounts have posted a series of videos, claiming they were recent footage from the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side in April 2025.
The videos are as follows:
First: Accounts circulated a video showing citizens holding Palestinian and Egyptian flags, dancing in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side. The accounts claimed that the video was taken in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side, and the clip was accompanied by the following text: “Palestinian Dabke in front of the Rafah crossing during events in which thousands participated under the slogan ‘No to displacement in solidarity with Gaza.’”

Kashif verified the clip via Google Images search and found it to be old. Cairo 24 published a video of the same event from a different angle, showing the same people wearing the same clothes and dancing the Palestinian dabke. The video was posted on 1/2/2025, in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side during activities to reject the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The video was accompanied by the following text: “Rejecting displacement… the Egyptian people danced the Palestinian dabke while in front of the Rafah crossing yesterday.”





Second: Social media accounts posted a video showing men and women dancing to the song “My Blood is Palestinian – Dami Falastini,” claiming that the video was taken in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side. The clip was accompanied by the following text: “These people went to the Rafah crossing to open it, dancing and singing, while behind it, bodies were being torn to pieces.”

Kashif verified the clip via Google Images search and found it to be old. It was published by Al- Journal-Egypt on 31/1/2025, with the following text: “We are all with you, Mr. President… Egyptians rejoice in front of the Rafah crossing, rejecting the displacement of Palestinians.”

Third: A video of demonstrators dancing, one of them wearing an Egyptian flag with a picture of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on it, has been circulating. The claim is that the video was taken in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side. The video was accompanied by the following text: “For half a chicken and 400 Egyptian pounds, Sisi supporters at the Rafah crossing, dancing and singing without allowing a single truckload of aid to enter, which has accumulated at the crossing, while people in Gaza are dying of hunger.”

Kashif verified the clip via Google Images search and found it to be old. It was posted on X by Nezam Mahdawi on 31/1/2025, with the following description: “Now, now… Netanyahu and Trump tremble at these scenes expressing the will of the Egyptian people at the Rafah crossing.”

Hundreds of Egyptians participated in demonstrations and protests on 31/1/025, in front of the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip, rejecting US President Donald Trump’s proposal to deport Palestinians from the Strip to Egypt and Jordan. The demonstrators held up banners affirming their support for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who emphasized Egypt’s rejection of this proposal, both government and people.
An Egyptian popular protest was organized in front of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side on 8/4/2025, during which demonstrators expressed their rejection of plans to displace Palestinians and their support for the Palestinian cause.
