Old Photo Circulates as of Khiyam Battle

Accounts on X published a photo showing people wearing military uniforms, claiming that the photo shows clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation army in the town of Khiyam in southern Lebanon. The photo was accompanied by the following text: “Intense battles in southern Lebanon. We do not have a death toll in Khiyam, and the event is still ongoing.”

Kashif verified the image via reverse search, and found that the image is old. The image was published by Al-Mayadeen Channel in English on 10/5/2024, with the following description: “Hezbollah’s elite Radwan forces show off their capabilities in a maneuver simulating infiltration into territories occupied by Israel.” It also indicated: “The image was published on 3/1/2023 of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Military Media.” 

The official website of Hezbollah also published a video clip dated 1/1/2023 showing a maneuver by Hezbollah elements entitled: “ We are coming… We will cross ,” simulating the moment Hezbollah elements cross the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine and enter the northern occupied territories and destroy the Israeli army’s armored vehicles.

The Israeli occupation army continues its attack on the town of Khiam in the Marj Ayoun district in southern Lebanon, as the aerial and artillery bombardment continued from Friday night to Saturday morning.

The Israeli occupation army’s warplanes intensified their raids on the town, the Israeli artillery targeted its center and outskirts with heavy and medium shells, in addition to firing phosphorous shells at the Jalahiya area north of Khiyam, and carrying out booby-trapping and demolition of homes and buildings.

Hezbollah announced on Sunday, 24/11/2024, a series of operations, including targeting a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers east of the town of Khiyam for the fourth time with a salvo of rockets.
