Social media accounts recently published a video clip showing two people carrying the Israeli flag and the Saudi flag, claiming that they are Israeli soldiers is Israel. The clip was accompanied by the following text: “Occupation soldiers raising the Saudi flag in the temporary Zionist entity.”
Kashif verified the video via “Google Images” tool and found that it is old and the claim is misleading. The video was circulated in May 2020, not recently.
Stand with Us in Arabic account on Facebook posted the video on 29/5/2020, with the following text: “A beautiful clip of an Israeli raising the Saudi flag and saying: I am waiting for the sky to open so I can travel to Saudi Arabia. We hope to visit Saudi Arabia and we invite Saudis to visit Israel.”
Social media accounts circulated a screenshot from an Instagram account last June that included a picture of Israeli soldiers trampling on the flag of Saudi Arabia. The accounts indicated that the picture was from the Shy_ Boukhriss account and that is of an Israeli soldier.
Kashif was unable to verify the photo or confirm the time it was taken, as it could not find Shy__ Boukhriss’s account on Instagram.
