A video clip of a parachutist crashing into a building while landing has recently been circulated on social media, with the claim that it was during an Algerian army military parade, “The military parade carried out by the Algerian army yesterday.”
Kashif verified the video and found that it is old and the claim is misleading, as accounts on Facebook published the circulating video last August.
The video was posted on 18/8/2024 by Facebook account “Miguel Angel Moreno”, which specializes in skydiving content. It was also shared on 20/8/2024 by Facebook account “Skoczek Spadochronowy Służb Ochrony”, which describes it as conducting “straight-line skydiving training”.
A respected military parade was organized on the 70th anniversary of the “Liberation Revolution” in Algeria, which began on 1/11/2024. More than 100 fighter jets, drones, and hundreds of tanks from the Algerian inventory participated, and new weapons were displayed.
