Social media accounts published what it said was a report by Israeli Channel 12 documenting the clash that took place between the late head of the political bureau, Yahya al-Sinwar, and the Israeli occupation army. The accounts stated the following allegations:

    – 370 Israeli soldiers participated in the confrontation against Sinwar.

    – Sinwar fought with them for 6 hours.

    – 60 thousand bullets were fired against Sinwar.

    – Heavy equipment such as tanks and the Air Force participated in the battle.

    – Sinwar shot down two of their soldiers.

“The Israeli occupation soldiers requested reinforcements.”

    One source of the claim

Kashif’s Israeli-Hebrew affairs team verified the information and found that it was fabricated. Through searching the Israeli-Hebrew media and news websites, including Channel 12, to which the claim was attributed, in addition to the website and platforms of the Israeli occupation army, Kashif found no mention of this information.

Israeli-Hebrew Channel 12 report did not include any of the information attached to it. Israeli media reported that the Israeli occupation army forces suspected three people who were in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah, and clashed with them. One of them took refuge in a building and it was later revealed that he was Yahya al-Sinwar. The Israeli occupation army also stated that al-Sinwar threw two grenades at the force before being targeted by tank fire.

Walla Israeli-Hebrew website report on the clash between the Israeli occupation soldiers and Sinwar

The Israeli occupation army announced on 17/10/2024 the killing of the late head of the political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, in an army operation in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza.

Hamas announced on 18/10/2024 the killing of its political bureau chief Yahya Sinwar in a clash with the Israeli occupation army in Tel al-Sultan in the city of Rafah.
