Accounts on “X” recently published a photo showing a fire burning in tents, and next to it a group of women. The accounts claimed that the photo dates back to the Mawasi massacre in Khan Yunis.
Kashif verified the image via “Google Images” and found that it was taken from a video clip consisting of a group of scenes, published by the “ Hussein Bou Ali” account on 17 July 2024. The video included the following text: “Here is Zainab carrying out Hussein’s will to silence the frightened children. Here is Zainab protecting the children and women of Hussein without a protector or guarantor”.
Facebook account, “Haider Al-Khaikani” also published the same video clip on 18 July 2024, with the following text: “The battle ended and the journey of captivity began, and Zainab remained alone in the field”.
The video, published by “Hussein Bou Ali” and “Haider Al-Khaikani”, contained a reference to artificial intelligence (AI).
Upon examining the video clip, Kashif’s team noted that the movement and colors of the flames in the video were unnatural, with distortions in the women’s shapes, indicating that the video was produced by artificial intelligence.
The Israeli occupation army launched an air strike at dawn on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, targeting displacement area in Mawasi Khan Yunis, southwest of the Gaza Strip. The Civil Defense in the Strip announced the recovery of 40 bodies and 60 wounded as a result of the strike, and confirmed that the operations to recover the bodies are still ongoing.
