Information attributed to Israeli media has been widely shared on social media claiming that 10 Israeli soldiers were killed in a plane crash in the southern Gaza Strip.
Kashif verified the information and found it to be inaccurate, Israeli news website “Ynet” published a report on Wednesday, 11 September 2024, stating that two Israeli soldiers were killed in a “Black Hawk” helicopter crash in the Philadelphi axis in the Gaza Strip, and 6 other crew members were injured, including 3 in critical condition.
Ynet reported that the commander of the Israeli Air Force, General Tomer Bar, formed an investigation committee to determine the circumstances of the helicopter crash. The report explained that the initial assessment indicated that the accident occurred as a result of a technical malfunction or human error.
